Putting together a Save The Date photo session in less than 12hrs

It was well into the evening on Jan 29th when we received a phone call from Santhosh while we were busy jumping from one shop to another at Spencer Plaza. As usual Madhan picked up the phone call and the conversation started with “Yes, please tell me Santhosh” to “sure, let’s do it tomorrow morning first thing”

Santhosh and Maitree needed a Save The Date photo session ASAP!

We usually take extra time for pre-production, firstly to understand the couple’s expectation and moving on to planning other things before saying yes. But Maitree must go to Bangalore in the next few days. So it’s either now or never.

With very limited time, we had to sort everything through a phone call. Santhosh and Maitree’s expectation was quite simple and conveyed clearly which helped us put the whole session together with ease.

We decided to step into the streets of Mylapore for sunrise the very next day. Before that Santhosh and Maitree went for quick shopping to get clothes and other accessories to match the vintage vibe of Mylapore streets.

Along with Santhosh and Maitree a special furry guest decided to join us which made the Memories even more special.  It’s Theo!!!

A very cute and “well behaved” puppy who stole the first half of the session.

We started closer to the temple, the very first image we clicked of Santhosh and Maitree made it to the final set. It usually takes a bit of time for the couple to get comfortable in front of the camera but Santhosh and Maitree had an unfiltered and beautiful presence in front of the camera.

We moved to a couple of different places before taking a quick elaneer break. Theo loved tender coconut!!! We realised dog treats can be a bit cheaper too. After that we let Theo to rest a bit in the car (special thanks to Rakshitha for taking care of him throughout the session).

It was close to 7.30am when we actually started to take some “save the date” pictures. The morning sun was just in the right spot for us to play with and get some beautiful pictures.

Earlier we planned a sequence where Santhosh gets flowers for Maitree. We finally made it happen! Nothing staged. Just Santhosh and Maitree being themselves and having their moments captured as memories. Also ft. Alia (the cat) and Abhimanyu (the dog) wearing a shirt from the flower shop.

After the session, as a part of Alaigal’s ritual we took the couple for some nice breakfast. We chose Kaylir this time because we knew Theo would be the hero there. The yummy breakfast made the session feel so wholesome.

Huge thanks to Santhosh and Maitree for making Alaigal a part of your special morning.

To more memories.

Love,

Alaigal.
